Our beautiful north-facing property provides
guests with an exclusive holiday home in a stunning location.
The spacious house features full length doors and windows opening
onto expansive decks that wrap around the house taking in the
spectacular views.
The beautifully hand-crafted interiors feature
polished timber floors, hand-made rugs, antiques and New Zealand
art.
The double height lounge forms the centre-piece
of the house and features beautiful cathedral ceilings, an open
fire, tri-fold doors opening onto the decks and a mezzanine balcony.
Folding glass doors separate it from the sunny family living area
which has a cosy wood burner and further bi-fold doors opening
onto the sunny decks.
Stunning Infinity Pool
The large modern open-plan kitchen looks out
to sea across a stunning infinity pool. The kitchen is fully equipped
for self-catering, with modern appliances including espresso coffee
machine, large gas hob and oven, fridge-freezer and ample storage.
The kitchen opens onto a north-facing covered deck with al fresco
dining tables and chairs.
Luxurious Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Seven spacious and beautiful bedrooms provide
relaxing havens for up to 12 guests. The five modern bathrooms
feature original mosaics, walk in showers and luxurious free-standing
baths taking in the amazing views.
The master bedroom features a super-king bed
and private north facing upper sun deck with amazing sea views.
The master en suite has a huge double walk in shower, beautiful
bath caste iron under the window and double sinks.
The three further king bedrooms are located on
the ground floor. Each spacious bedroom features beautiful antiques,
wonderful views and floor length windows and doors opening onto
the north-facing decks.
Upstairs three further twin and single bedrooms
are tucked under the eaves. Perfect for children, the bedrooms
offer more amazing views and have their own bathroom with bath
and shower.
High quality beds, cotton linen, feather pillows
and duvets, cosy throws, bathrobes, bath and beach towels together
with complimentary toiletries, candles, fresh flowers, books and
magazines ensure your stay is as relaxing as possible.
Our Eco-House is completely "grid-free"
with its own sophisticated alternate power supply using a combination
of solar panels (PV) and hydro power. The House has been featured
in a number of Magazine articles (link to GOOD article) and uses
state of the art technology to generate and conserve energy. It
comes equipped with TV, DVD player and music system, i-pod dock
and free broadband internet, WiFi and local calls. The house is
fully equipped for self-catering and has its own organic vegetable
garden, free-range chickens and ducks. Gourmet catering can also
be offered by prior arrangement.
In addition to the swimming pool, gardens and
pool house, guests also have access to all the amenities at Takou
River including our free kayaks, canoes and fishing rods; beautiful
private river, secluded swimming spots, boat house, jetty and
gardens. Explore our 150 acre organic farm, discover the myriad
of bird life and native plants, meander through pastures and along
the river bank and through native bush or take a kayak downstream
to the beautiful deserted sandy beaches at Takou Bay.

$800 - $2000/night (including GST) for 10 -
