Similar in design and layout to River Cottage
and with one adjoining wall, Summer Cottage is ideal for a couple
or 4 people looking for a peaceful getaway. Both the King and
Queen bedrooms open directly into the gardens and have en suite
bathrooms (with bath and or shower). A sunny and spacious hallway
featuring antique Kauri stairs leads up to the open plan living,
dining and kitchen area with beautiful Matai timber floors. Fully
equipped for self-catering the kitchen area has a gas hob, electric
oven, fridge freezer, espresso coffee machine, microwave, crockery
& utensils etc. The living and dining area with relaxing sofas
leads onto an upper deck with tables, chairs, sun loungers and
gas bbq. The cottage is connected to mains power and is equipped
with a CD player and i-pod dock, relaxing candles, fresh flowers
and magazines. The Cottage is cellphone and TV free and a DVD
player is available on request. A guest computer with high speed
broadband and WiFi internet access and a telephone for free local
calls are available in the office.

Summer Cottage guests enjoy the exclusive use
of their very own private Summer House set apart from the cottage
and hidden in the far side of the gardens. The Summer House with
its beautiful alfresco claw foot bath, pot belly stove, gas bbq,
tables and chairs is the perfect place for a romantic evening
or relaxing with family and friends.

In addition to the private Summer House and its
alfresco bath, guests at Summer Cottage have access to a wonderful
range of amenities including the free kayaks, canoes and fishing
rods, beautiful private riverfront, Boathouse and 5 acre sub-tropical
gardens, secluded swimming spots, 150 acre organic farm with tranquil
walkways along the river bank, through native bush and pasture
and of course the beautiful deserted sandy beaches a short paddle
downstream at Takou Bay.

therapy treatments are also available in the comfort and privacy
of the cottage or on the Summer House deck.
