cottages provide stylish and spacious boutique self catering accommodation
in a peaceful riverside setting. Sleeping 2 - 4 people per cottage,
guests enjoy the use of a beautiful Summer House, complete with
alfresco claw foot bath set on the deck overlooking the gardens
and river.
The cottages are fully self-contained, light
and airy in style and have 2 double bedrooms on the ground floor
opening onto a small landscaped garden with tables, chairs and
gas bbq. The master bedroom in each cottage has a spacious en
suite with bath and shower, and the second bedroom has a well
appointed en suite shower room also. A spacious and airy hallway
in each cottage leads up to a light open plan living, dining and
fully equipped kitchen area which opens onto a private sun-deck
with river or garden views.
The cottages are thoughtfully furnished featuring
beautiful recycled native timber floors and staircases together
with artefacts from around the world – Turkish Kilims; Russian
clocks and carvings from Papua New Guinea.
King size beds, 100% cotton linen, feather pillows
and duvets, cotton waffle bath robes, bath and beach towels and
electric blankets are all provided. Complimentary toiletries from
‘Living Nature’, fresh flowers, books and magazines
are all available for guests to enjoy.
The cottages are equally well suited to a couple
looking for a quiet retreat or for groups of friends wishing to
enjoy the peaceful surroundings together.
Takou River and Garden Cottages share the use
of a beautiful Summer House. Situated apart from the cottages
in a separate area of the gardens, the Summer House has a stunning
alfresco claw foot bath on its deck with lovely views across the
gardens to the river. A pot belly stove, gas bbq, lamps, candles
and outdoor furniture compliment the bath and make the Summer
House the perfect location for a romantic or relaxing evening.
