River Cottage offers the perfect getaway for
winter and summer with its cosy wood fire and romantic alfresco
claw foot bath on its own private north facing sun deck. The self-catering
cottage is ideal for a couple; the king bedroom which opens directly
onto the lawns has an en suite bath and shower. The second room
is designed as a spacious dressing room and also converts to a
Queen bedroom with en suite shower room catering for 2 couples
or 4 guests. Luxurious beds, cotton linen, feather pillows and
duvets, electric blankets, cosy throws and bathrobes, bath and
beach towels together with complimentary toiletries, fresh flowers,
books and magazines complete your stay.

private claw foot bath
A spacious hallway featuring antique wooden
stairs leads from the bedrooms up to the sunny open plan living
area. The fully equipped kitchen area is designed for self-catering
(with a gas hob and electric oven, espresso coffee machine, fridge/freezer,
microwave, crockery, utensils etc). The living area features beautiful
reclaimed timber floors and relaxing sofas and flows out to the
private north facing sun deck. Equipped with a gas bbq, tables
and chairs, sunloungers and its own private romantic alfresco
claw foot bath with limitless hot water, the deck is the perfect
place to relax. A unique lookout tower perched above the cottage
offers guests beautiful river views.
River Cottage is self-contained with one wall
adjoining Summer Cottage. It is cellphone and TV free, and is
equipped with a CD player and i-pod dock, relaxing candles, fresh
flowers and magazines. A DVD player is available on request. High
speed Broadband Internet and WiFi are available in the cottage
and free local calls from the office. River Cottage is connected
to mains power.
A stay at Takou River is about much more than
just the Cottage. Guests at River Cottage have access to a wonderful
range of amenities including your own private alfresco bath; the
free kayaks, canoes and fishing rods, beautiful private riverfront,
secluded swimming spots, 5 acre sub-tropical gardens and Boat
House, 150 acre organic farm with tranquil walkways along the
river bank, through native bush and pasture and of course the
beautiful deserted sandy beaches a short paddle downstream at
Takou Bay.

therapy treatments are also available in the comfort and privacy
of the cottage.
