The self-catering solar powered studio is completely
secluded and surrounded by the 5 acre sub-tropical gardens. It
spills onto a private sun-deck which wraps around the cottage
giving stunning river views. The romantic alfresco claw foot
bath, perched over the river is the perfect place to relax and
watch the water slip by.
Magic Cottage has been designed as an intimate
and cosy romantic retreat – ideal for honeymoon couples
or for those who simply wish to escape the stress of daily life.

Simple Natural Luxury
A beautiful bay window seat, luxurious super-king
bed, cotton linen, feather pillows and duvet, cosy throws, blankets
and bathrobes, bath and beach towels together with complimentary
toiletries, fresh flowers, books and magazines complete your stay.
The Cottage sleeps 2. It has an en suite shower
room in addition to the beautiful out-door bath and is equipped
for self-catering including; a gas bbq on the deck; indoor and
outdoor tables and chairs; sun loungers, a small kitchen area
with fridge, gas oven and hob, crockery, glasses, cutlery and
cooking utensils; and battery powered CD player and i-pod dock.
The cottage is free from TV, cellphone coverage and mains power
sockets as it is simply powered by a combination of solar energy
(lighting) and gas (for cooking, hot water and heating).
A stay at Takou River is about much more than
just the Cottage, although you may decide never to venture further!
Guests at Magic Cottage have access to a wonderful range of amenities
including free kayaks, canoes and fishing rods, beautiful private
riverfront, secluded swimming spots, 5 acre sub-tropical gardens
and Boat House, 150 acre organic farm with tranquil walkways along
the river bank, through native bush and pasture and of course
the beautiful deserted sandy beaches a short paddle downstream
at Takou Bay.
Relaxing and rejuvenating massage and beauty
therapy treatments are also available in the comfort and privacy
of the cottage.
