the 4 Cottages, and Lodge provide boutique self-catering accommodation

Eco-Friendly Accommodation
Choose from Magic Cottage, a
cosy solar powered studio perched on the river bank – the
perfect romantic retreat complete with intimate alfresco claw
foot bath overlooking the river; or Summer
and River Cottages– more
spacious 2-bedroom cottages built with environmental sensitivity
and set in the beautiful gardens a minutes walk from the riverbank.
Each cottage has its own private romantic alfresco claw foot bath
either perched on the cottage deck (River Cottage) or hidden away
in the gardens at The beautiful Balinese Summer House (Summer
Cottage). The Lodge offers spacious
and indulgent accommodation for a couple or those wishing to relax
with family and friends. It has a lovely warm timber interior,
log fire and spa bath; beautifully appointed kitchen and luxurious
super-king and king beds; cathedral ceilings and uninterrupted
views across the lawns and lily ponds to the river. Our most recently
completely accommodation, The Shearers’
Cottage is a sunny and spacious three bedroom self-catering
cottage, perfect for families or couples wishing to relax and
explore the Bay of Islands.
A stay at Takou River is about so much more than just indulgent
accommodation. Guests have access to a wonderful range of amenities
including individual alfresco baths or an indoor spa bath; free
kayaks, canoes and fishing rods; a private boathouse, jetty and
Summer House; tranquil and private river frontage, secluded swimming
spots, 5 acres of lush sub-tropical gardens and 150 acres of organic
farm with tranquil walkways along the river bank, through native
bush and pasture, and of course the beautiful deserted sandy beaches
a short paddle downstream at Takou Bay. Relaxing and rejuvenating
massage and beauty therapy treatments
are also available in the comfort and privacy of your own accommodation.
Enjoy the flourishing birdlife; wander the beautiful riverbank
through native bush; escape the noise and stress of daily life
in the enchanted gardens; borrow a rod and fish or find your own
secluded swimming spot in the river; paddle a kayak from the Boathouse
to deserted sandy beaches; relax, refresh and romance in your

WiFi, Broadband Internet and local calls are available from the
Office. The cottages have CD players and i-pod docks and are TV
and cell phone-free. DVD players, DVDs, books, games, CDs and
magazines are available.
